A Master’s Program in the Environment Studies and Bioclimatic Architecture

The Master’s program in the Environment Studies and Bioclimatic Architectureis organized by the Department of Building and Architectonic Technologyof the Polytechnic University of Madrid and is given at the Advanced Technical School of Architecture.

It is open to professionals, researchers and all those interested in the environment, ecology, sustainable development and bioclimatic study.
Directed by F. Javier Neila Gonzalez, Ph.D. in Architecture, the program is staffed by professors of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, other Spanish universities, foreign universities, and by professionals from the related business community.

The total coursework consists of 600 credit hours, divided among lectures, seminars, tutorials and field trips.
The program covers a wide range of topics, from the bioclimatic origins in popular architecture to the current use of renewable recourses, including areas such as geo-biology and bio-construction, ecological urban planning and contemporary bioclimatic architecture.

Throughout the course, each student will develop a project, which is supervised by an assigned tutor. At the conclusion of the program, the best project presented will receive a Final Award.

Along with the academic activities, other cultural and sports activities will take place during the program.
