The UIA 2026 World Congress of Architects, held in Barcelona under the theme Becoming. Architectures for a Planet in Transition, brought together professionals and researchers from around the world to discuss the role of architecture in addressing the climate emergency. The event focused on issues such as climate change adaptation, the energy transition, circularity, efficient resource management, low-impact building materials, urban biodiversity, and housing, all topics closely related to the curriculum of the Master’s Degree in Environment and Bioclimatic Architecture (MAYAB).

Particular attention was given to sessions on climate- and energy-responsive design, energy circularity, material reuse, and the transformation of construction processes from a life-cycle perspective. The congress highlighted how the ecological transition is already reshaping architectural practice and emphasized the need to train professionals capable of integrating knowledge on climate, energy, environmental health, and territorial resilience.
